Dell Inspiron 9300 17 Widescreen 2.3GHz Centrino

First note that this article/blog is not intended to advertise nor DELL nor Microsoft! I‘m just sharing some experiences that I had with my dell 9300 laptop and its OS - MS Windows XP Professional.

The story is the following: In August 2005 I bought my second dell laptop after the first one got stolen from my dormitory room in my university (for which I‘m still pissed). For the short period that I owned it (about 8 months) I nearly felt in love with the hardware stability of dell laptops since I used a lot of PCs and they almost all the time had some "hardware issues". Even thou the Dell Inspiron 1200 with 4.3GHz, 512MB ram and 128mb "shared" video card was not exactly what I was "hoping" to get but for the small price of $1,300 USD that was the only thing I could afford at this time...

The interesting thing that made me "fall in love" was that DELL laptops seemed to be more stable then the other ones that I had contact with [Fujitsu Life Book (B series), the IBM Thinkpad (I don‘t remember which series what that), the so famous (for nothing interesting but the brand) SONY Vaio, and finally the Toshiba (the Japanese Power) Satellite notebook] other laptops with similar configurations some owned by me or close friends of mine. Also I noted that the DELL laptops seemed to have better cooling and that made their performance quite better/stable.

So as I began to describe earlier ... since I lost my Dell Inspiron 1200, I needed a replacement, but this time I was able to invest larger sum and hopefully try to protect it from "being stolen". The summer of 2005 I successfully managed to save enough to buy brand new DELL Inspiron 9300 with all the goodies included: 2.4 Intel Pentium M Centrino with 80GB 7200 RPM HDD, 256 MB Ge Force GO 2800 (BTW That‘s great video card people .. I can play so "demanding" games without any problem) and all the standard stuff like wifi and etc for the not so small sum of $3,400 minus $1,000 discounts (from coupons and etc) in total of $2,400USD

Again .. to get back to the topic .. I received the laptop with pre-installed windows and (as always) I cleared it up and installed it myself (as I don‘t trust any company). The windows that I got was the Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2, and I kept it up to date with all the needed updates and service packs. The thing that impressed me so much was the fact that since I reinstalled it I had no problems until now - August 2007 -- that‘s nearly 3 years! Man.. That‘s what I call impressive! Also I didn‘t have any hardware problems and this really made me convinced that DELL is offering the best/most-durable laptops on the market.

Dell Inspiron 6400 Dual Core

As I‘m writing this blog, I‘m reinstalling my windows on the DELL 9300 laptop, and in the same time I‘m typing on my new DELL inspiron 6400 that I purchased last December for my company.

For conclusion .. not that there was something difficult to conclude but .. I‘d like to say/advice to all of you that might be reading this -- Get Dell‘s .. trust me .. they are good! Be advised that "saving money" can cause you big headaches and investing into nice hardware will defiantly return you with tons of profit!

I just love Dells
